Helen Garrison

  Granny G (Helen Garrison) Helen Garrison was a featured storyteller in 1996 DFW Telloff, Rising Star at the 1998 Texas Storytelling Festival, Stories Under the Stars 1995-2001, Once Upon a Time in the Hood 1997, Roanoke Storytelling Festival 2001, Medicine Mound Museum, 2000-2001. She is a member of the Tarrant Area Guild of Storytellers, Tejas Storytelling Association, Oklahoma Territory Tellers, Texas Folklore Society, Texas Historical Society, and Wordcraft Circle of native Writers and Storytellers.

She is known as Granny G., a woman of the mid 1800’s that has many stories to share. Traditional fairy tales from her childhood, Folk Tales, ghost stories, Texas history and legends gathered during her move from the Ozarks to Texas in a covered wagon. Helen Garrison, a teller of tales, enjoys sharing with all ages the wonderful oral tradition of storytelling. She also does Living History presentations of Cynthia Ann Parker – A Love Story and Ella’s Story – A Medicine Mound Legend.
